Kalbe Received an Award from the Minister of Law and Human Rights of Indonesia

PT Kalbe Farma Tbk (Kalbe) on 15 April 2014 carved a highlight of achievement by winning the Copyright Cultured Industry Award from the Ministry of Law and Human Rights of the Republic of Indonesia.

The award was handed directly by the Minister of Law and Human Rights, Mr. Amir Syamsyudin, SH., to Mr. Herman Widjaja as the Director of PT Kalbe Farma Tbk at Borobudur Hotel, Jakarta. The award was bestowed during Pharmaceutical Companies Association of Indonesia's Sharing Session Forum, which is the first as well as the Establishment of Copyright Culture with the theme of "The Role of Intellectual Property Rights in Increasing Competitiveness of the Pharmaceutical Industry."

According to the Chairman of the Pharmaceutical Association, Mr. Johannes Setijono, in his speech, there are three pharmaceutical companies that received awards, namely Kalbe, Biofarma, and Dexa Medica. These three companies are able to increase the capability of the pharmaceutical industry through technology research and development to allow their products to be more competitive and sustainable.

The Minister of Law and Human Rights of Indonesia, Mr. Amir Syamsyudin in his speech stated that Intellectual Property Right is very crucial for companies in order to face the global free market and competition. He satted that in the pharmaceutical world, patent is crucial in its role as the benchmark to increase competitiveness. "Therefore we grant the HKI Award to these three pharmaceutical companies as appreciation of their participation in maintaining the intellectual property rights," said Mr. Amin in the ceremony. Congratulations to the Management and entire employees of KALBE, let's continue the HKI appreciation practices and guard the dignity of our beloved company.
